Arrest Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Adalberto Tejada, 29, of Southbury came to the police station on the morning of May 29 and was charged with second-degree failure to appear in court and with driving while under suspension, according to a police report.
Police said that Danbury Superior Court issued the warrant on March 14 because Tejada had failed to make a scheduled court appearance in connection with charges stemming from a Newtown motor vehicle accident in which Tejada was involved last November 4.
After processing the arrest, police released Tejada from custody on $1,000 bail for a June 18 court appearance.
Rollover Crash
Motorist Armando Gallucci, 43, of Monroe was driving a 2001 Ford F350-D van southward on Botsford Hill Road about 12:01 am May 25, when he attempted to take a sharp right turn in the road near the Housatonic Railroad rail overpass, but went off the road and struck a utility pole, resulting in the van flipping onto its right side, police said.
Police said that Gallucci told them he had misjudged the curve in the road. Gallucci was transported to Danbury Hospital for a medical evaluation, police said. Botsford firefighters responded to the accident scene.
Police issued Gallucci an infraction for making an improper turn.

DUI Arrest
Police report they went to a Maltbie Road residence late on the night of May 26 in response to a complaint about a loud party that was underway there.
Police said that when they arrived in the area, they spotted motorist James Cliggott, 21, of Monroe, backing out of the driveway where the party had been held. Police stopped Cliggott to investigate, after which they charged him with driving under the influence.
Following arrest processing, police released Cliggott from custody on $100 bail for a June 10 appearance at Danbury Superior Court.
Warrant
Early on the morning of June 2, police served a rearrest warrant against Thomas King, 33, of Southbury, charging him with second-degree failure to appear in court in connection with a motor vehicle accident that occurred last November near the intersection of Main Street and Schoolhouse Hill Road.
Last November 19, while being pursued by police, King, who was driving a 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera sedan northward on Main Street, drove off the road, and struck a utility pole. The accident caused a localized power outage and a closure of Main Street in that area.
Also pending against King are charges of driving under the influence, reckless driving, evading responsibility, engaging police in pursuit, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without a license, and misuse of marker plates.
Police held King on $15,000 bail for a June 2 court arraignment.
Copper Theft
Police said they received a report about 8:50 am June 1 that a man was stealing copper drainage downpipes from buildings at Fairfield Hills, so they went to the area to investigate.
Police said they found Mario Anaya, 49, of Danbury at Fairfield Hills with a Toyota Camry whose trunk contained six sections of copper drainage pipe which had allegedly been stolen by Anaya from the exterior of Greenwich House and Shelton House.
Police arrested Anaya on charges of sixth-degree larceny, second-degree criminal trespassing, and third-degree criminal mischief.
Following arrest processing, police released Anaya from custody on $400 bail for a June 13 court appearance.
Drug Arrest
Police report they spotted motorist Blaine Bourne, 45, of Stratford driving a Nissan Maxima sedan with an obstructed windshield southward on South Main Street about 2:45 pm May 30, so they stopped him near Sand Hill Plaza to investigate.
Police report they detected the odor of marijuana in the vehicle and a search turned up some drugs.
The charges filed against Bourne are possession of marijuana, possession of narcotics, failure to keep prescription narcotics in their original container, failure to possess a vehicle registration/automotive insurance identification card, and driving a vehicle with an obstructed windshield, police said .
Following arrest processing, Bourne posted $300 bail for a June 12 court appearance.
DUI Case
Police said that witnesses reported to them that motorist Gary Noble, 39, of Monroe was driving a 1997 Ford Edge SUV northward on South Main Street (Route 25) and crossing over into the southbound lane about 7:50 pm May 29.
Newtown police said Monroe police found Noble and stopped the Ford on South Main Street, near Botsford Lane. Noble was given field sobriety tests, police said.
Police charged Noble with driving under the influence and with failure to drive to the right.
After posting $250 in bail, Noble was released from police custody for a June 12 court appearance.
Sandy Hook Incident
About 9 pm May 30, police were sent to the intersection of Pole Bridge Road and Bancroft Road in Sandy Hook after receiving a report that some suspicious youths had entered a wooded area nearby.
Police said that while they were investigating the case, Lisa Cascella, 40, of 32 Poplar Drive appeared on the scene and then shouted and complained about the policeâs presence there. Cascella urged some youths to leave the area, police said.
Cascella ignored police requests not to interfere in the investigation, police said, resulting in her arrest on charges of breach of peace and interfering with police.
Police said they warned the youths not to trespass on private property and to stay off Newtown Forest Association land after dark.
Police released Cascella on $500 bail for a June 12 court appearance.
Audi Vs BMW
A two-vehicle accident occurred on eastbound Church Hill Road, at its intersection with Queen Street, about 7:15 am May 27, according to police.
Motorist Kathryne Moser, 50, of 9 Georges Hill Road, who was driving a 2000 Audi A-6 sedan, struck the rear end of a 2007 BMW X-330-SI SUV driven by motorist Katherine Powers, 50, of 15 Middleton Road, according to a police report.
There were no injuries. Police issued Moser a written warning for following too closely.
DUI Charge
Police report that at about 6:40 am on June 1, they received a call informing them that a vehicle was parked on Beaver Dam Road, blocking the passage of vehicles on that road, so police went to the area to investigate.
Police said they found motorist Garrett OâConnor, 19, of 11 Avalon Way asleep at the wheel of that parked vehicle, which had its engine running, after which they sent OâConnor to Danbury Hospital for treatment.
After OâConnor was released from the hospital several hours later, police charged him with driving under the influence and with improper parking.
OâConnor was released from custody on $100 bail for a June 19 court appearance, police said.
Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Andrew Cabral, 20, of 14 Queen Street went to the police station on June 2 and was charged with failure to respond to an infraction, allowing a dog to roam, and failure to comply with dog ownership requirements, police report.
Police said the arrest stems from an incident that occurred in November 2007. Police released Cabral on $167 bail for a June 12 court appearance.
DUI Case
Police said motorist Ennio Dinino, 53, of 123 Huntingtown Road was seen driving across the roadâs center lines while he was traveling southward on South Main Street, near Prospect Drive, about 11 pm June 1, so they stopped him to investigate.
Police charged Dinino with driving under the influence, failure to drive to the right, and driving while under suspension.
Dinino was released on $100 bail for a June 17 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
