Happy To Be Here
Happy To Be Here
To The Editor,
Four years ago this summer, when I came up to visit my daughter and her family, I made a major decision that changed my life.
My daughter had been encouraging me for years to move up from Georgia to be closer to her, her husband, and my grandchildren. She wanted me to see these new âover 55â condos in Sandy Hook.
When we drove up to the model, I thought to myself, this place is very pretty. At the time we were looking, there was one available unit in the first group of homes that were built. I liked the location of the unit and also the view of the pond.
But honestly at 82 years of age, I was hesitant to sell my home Iâd lived in for 43 years and make this big move. However, when I got back home to Georgia, I thought a lot about how nice being near to my family would be. On an impulse, I called Walnut Tree Village and spoke to Lou DeFilio. When he said this unit was still available I replied, âIâll take it.â
So here I am four years later, a transplanted Southerner, living happily in Connecticut. I truly have not had a single regret. I hope to live here for the rest of my life.
I am so thankful and feel blessed for my lovely home, my new friends, my beautiful view of the pond; and of course, being so near to my dear family.
Sincerely,
Mozelle Robertson
