NEWTOWN 6, GREENWICH 5: Kevin Canavan, Connor Collier, Evan Neugold and the Beitel brothers all scored to lead Newtown to the win. Steve Dooling and Ben DâAgostino anchored the offense while Alex Divico, Collier, Blake Bell, Max Paynter and Ian White combined to scoop 30 ground balls. Spencer Schnell, Alex Hamilton, Sam McCord, Kevin Read and Zach Flemming played solid defense.

NEW MILFORD 7, NEWTOWN 5: Brendan Kelly, Sean Tarrant, Marc Ingerman, Grant Speer and Tyler Law all scored one goal apiece to lead Newtown. Garrett OâConnor led the middies with five ground balls while Tyler Bigham was strong in goal with seven saves.
NEWTOWN 7, REDDING 6: The last game of the regular season saw Newtown come from behind to win. Zach DâAgostino scored three goals while Tyler Law, Sean Tarrant, Ian Tarrant and Oliver Paynter scored one goal apiece. Kyle Kay and Garrett OâConnor led the midfield pursuir while Nick Maurer was strong on defense.

NEWTOWN 6, REDDING 5: It took double overtime to do it, but Newtown clinched a first round win over Redding. Tyler Law scored four goals with assists from Drew Harmata and Oliver Paynter while Alex Caruso scored his first goal in the fourth quarter after Redding scored three times in a row. In the second OT, long stick midfielder Marc Ingerman came up the middle and shot a strong bouncer from the restraining line to lift Newtown to the win. Andrew White and Matt Fischer each had exceptional games on defense while Alex Archie and Ian Tarrant had nice games on attack and in the midfield. Tim Howland made six saves in the cage.
GUILFORD 4, NEWTOWN 3: Jack Capito, Tyler Law and Oliver Paynter all scored, but Guilford scored four times to capture first in the CONNY Black Division â leaving Newtown in second place. Newtown held a 3-2 lead at half, but Guilford scored late in the third quarter and then once with 11 seconds to go in overtime. Marc Ingerman, Andrew White and Matt Fischer all played well on defense while Tyler Bigham and Tim Howland stopped 10 shots in goal collectively.

NEWTOWN (B) 4, WILTON (B) 3 (3 OT): Jim Davis took a long clearing pass from goalie Mike Cummings and beat the Wilton goalie to win this thrilling triple-overtime game. Newtown overcame a 2-0 halftime deficit to win with three comes coming from Brendan OâConnor. Jay Schunter, Jeff Bell and Clark Neugold led the midfield while Alex Read, Ross Coates and Christian Power paced the defense. OâConnor and Cummings sharing the goalkeeping duties.
NEW FAIRFIELD (A) 7, NEWTOWN (B) 0: In the divisional championship, Newtown played well against a strong New Fairfield team. Brandon Thomas, Jesse Girardi, John Orzechowski and Ben Roche led the attack. Ian Armitage, Corey Regensburger and Dan Gregory led the midfield play. Mike Cash and Brendan OâConnor shared time in the cage.
FAIRFIELD (A) 2, NEWTOWN (A) 0: Despite outshooting Fairfield, 25-12, Newtown could not get a shot past the goalie. Ryan Bigham, Mike LaPerch and Steve Murtha combined for 15 ground balls. Adam Pennarola, Matt Wheeler and Matt Deluca led the attack. Brian McDonald, Justin Bass and Matt Tavella were strong at midfield while Chris Body made seven saves in goal.
NEWTOWN (A) 8, RIDGEFIELD (A) 5: Mike LaPerch scored four goals to lead Newtown in its final game of the season. John Oliver and Steve Murtha chipped in with two goals apiece with Murtha and Matt Kelley contributing assists. Murtha, Kelley, Oliver and Colin Curran all combined to scoop 21 ground balls. Uli Werner, Kyle Kirch and Dave Wesley led the midfield while Devon Manfredonia, Brian Sharnick and Curran played solid defense in front of goaltender Chris Body, who made eight saves.
