Gertrude Meyer
To most who knew her, she was Mother, Mom, Ma, & Oma. Very much loved & adored.
On May 22nd, 2024, Gertrude “Trudy” Marie Meyer, loving mother and Oma, passed away peacefully with her family by her side.
Trudy is survived by her devoted children, Richard, Inge, and Karl; her grandchildren, Ashley, Charlie, Max, Shane, Annalucia, Emily, Meredith, Adler, Izaiah, Logan, Brody, Odin, and Leo; and her great-grandson James.
Trudy was known for living her life to the fullest. She was a compassionate, loving soul, with a generous heart. Her family was her pride and joy. Spending time with them was very precious to her, whether it was making fun arts and crafts with her grandchildren or taking them somewhere special for a day trip or just for a fast lunch, all of this very important to her.
She graduated from Rye High School in June 1957 and married in July 1957. She moved to Sandy Hook, and became an executive secretary at Fairfield Hills Hospital. Some years later she became a loving mother and homemaker. She loved to garden and enjoy nature. She was a firm Catholic and felt that being Catholic was the only way to heaven.
After her children were grown, she belonged to three choirs: Arion Singing Society, St Rose Church Choir, and The Waterbury Chorale. She loved to sing and socialize with friends. She truly had the most amazing friends and led a very active life.
She was predeceased by her dad Richard Enders, mother Mary Enders, and sister Liesel Sporel.
She will be greatly missed by her loving family & friends.
She will always and forever be remembered in our hearts.
