Kirk Weldon
Kirk William "Mike" Weldon, 54, of Seymour, beloved husband of Tina Marie (Andreucci) Weldon, diedÃÂ June 3 at Griffin Hospital, surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Derby on July 7, 1962, he was the son of the late Kathleen (Dickinson) and Kenneth Weldon.
In addition to his wife of 27 years, his cherished daughter, Brianna Weldon of Seymour; his siblings, Kevin Weldon of Newtown, Kendell Weldon and wife Jody of Shelton, Kim Morey and husband Michael "Spider" of Seymour, and Kathryn Wermuth of Ansonia; sister-in-law, Deb Andreucci of Shelton; many nieces and nephews; as well as several great-nieces and -nephews survive him.
Mr Weldon was a 1980 graduate of Ansonia High School and longtime Ansonia and Seymour resident, where he served his community proudly as a volunteer firefighter with Seymour Citizens Engine Co. #2, Ansonia Charters Hose Co. #4, and Seymour Fire Police. He worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for the Stratford and Bridgeport offices for 11 years, until the time of his retirement. Following retirement, he worked as a crossing guard for the Town of Seymour for five years.
Family and friends may call at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, on Wednesday, June 7, from 4 to 7 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 8, at 10 am, meeting directly in the Church of the Assumption, 61 North Cliff Street, Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour.
