Jewish Federation Annual Meeting To Feature Birthright Israel Monologues

SOUTHBURY — The exciting and life-changing experiences of young adults who have traveled to Israel will be featured at the 70th annual meeting of The Federation, Jewish Communities of Western CT, Inc, on Thursday, June 18, at 5:30 pm.

Birthright Next Monologues will be presented by Taglit Birthright, a privately funded program that provides a free ten-day trip to Israel for Jewish people ages 18–26 who have not yet gone to Israel.

The Next Monologues program is a series of monologues presented by young adults who have had life-changing experiences by going on a Birthright trip. Assisting in creating this program was Def Jam Tour poet Vanessa Hidary, whose work has been seen all over the country.

The brief business portion of the meeting will includes voting in Federation officers and presenting the Eugene H. Kaplan Foundation Leadership Award. Appetizers and refreshments will be served.

There is no fee for the program, but registration is requested. The meeting will be at the Federation headquarters, 444 Main Street North.
