Frederick M. Orell

Frederick Mortimer Orell, 69, a resident of Wilton for many years, died on May 30 in New Britain General Hospital, New Britain. He was the father of Mimi Morin of Newtown.

Mr Orell was born in Darien on April 13, 1932, a son of the late Harry M. and Ethel (Torok) Orell. He graduated from King School in Stamford and in 1957 he received a BS degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the US Army.

Prior to his retirement, Mr Orell owned and operated an international reengineering and consulting company. He was a devoted father, an accomplished pianist, and also enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Mr Orell is also survived by his former wife, Lorraine C. Orell of Wilton; two sons, Jonathan F. Orell of Wilton and Jarl M. Orell of Redding; four other daughters, Allison Williges of Wellesley, Mass., Deidre O’Brien of Wilton, Tara Haug of Redding, and Marguerite Orell of Wilton; one brother, Harry Orell of Tolland, Mass.; two sisters, Barbara Warner of New Canaan and Karen Walsh of Granville, Mass.; 12 grandchildren, Keira, Chelsea, and Bethany Morin; Sean, Casey, and Glenn O’Brien; Chris, Matt, and Katie Williges; Madeline and Emily Haug; and Kyle Orell.

Services and the interment were private.

There were no calling hours.

Contributions in memory of Mr Orell may be made to the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation, 500 Morris Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081.

Arrangements were by the Bouton Funeral Home, 31 West Church Street, Georgetown.
