A Compromise Worth Supporting
A Compromise
Worth Supporting
To the Editor:
Many hardworking people â taxpayers, elected officials, and administrators â have spent long hours negotiating, debating and working hard to come up with a budget that represents a fair balance between the critical needs for education and town operations without an unbearable increase in our taxes. I think the recent compromise worked out by the Legislative Council is one that all residents of this town can and should support.
Although the process is flawed and many may wish that they got more of what they wanted, I believe that it is now time for us to pull together and pass this budget so that we may move this town forward and stop wasting money on additional referendums.
