Campus Notes

Christopher J. Carolan, son of Kevin and Dorothy Carolan of Sandy Hook, recently earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vt. He graduated Cum Laude.

Gary Edmund Jeanfaivre, Jr, son of Kathleen and Michael Colangelo of Sandy Hook, recently earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vt.

Eric J. Vasquez, a graduate of Newtown High School, received Dean’s List honors for the spring 2004 semester at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt.

The following students recently received their undergraduate degree from Fairfield University in Fairfield: Barbara J. Tabaka of Sandy Hook, Peter J. Antonopoulus, Stephen J. Berte, Deborah Cappelli, Wendy A. Fuller, Francis J. Tanski, Erika I. Toi, Emily E. Wefer and Keith B. Whamond.

The following students received their master’s degree from Fairfield University in Fairfield: David L. Thomas, Kara H. Wanzer and Thomas G. Whitmore of Sandy Hook, Jill K. Caseria and Adrian H. Van Der Kroef.

Amy Youngs, daughter of Jack and Joyce Youngs of Sag Harbor, N.Y., and formerly of Newtown, graduated from Trinity College in Washington, D.C., with a master of arts in elementary education on May 23. Amy is a graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. A 1989 graduate of Newtown High School, Amy has served in the Peace Corps in Honduras, teaching environmental education.

 Aleksey Barshay and Leanne E. Lopato recently received their associates’ degree from Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport.

Emily Elizabeth Wefer, daughter of John and Elizabeth Wefer, recently graduated from Fairfield University with a certificate of advanced study in the university’s School of Psychology. She received a master of science degree in school psychology in 2003, also from Fairfield University. She is a 1993 graduate of Newtown High School. Currently, Emily is completing a one-year internship at Fairfield High School and is a behavioral therapist with the Greenwich Autism Program (GAP).
