MADD Honors Local Cops

Four Newtown police officers were among those given awards last week by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).

Receiving recognition from MADD were patrol officers Louis Ferreira and William Hull, as well as school resource officer Gladys Pisani and youth officer Dana Schubert.

Officers Ferreira and Hull have led the police department in the number of drunken driving arrests made.

Officers Pisani and Schubert work in the schools with youths, advising them on the perils of drunken driving.

MADD is a non-profit organization with more than 600 chapters nationwide. It seeks effective solutions to drunk driving and underage drinking problems.
