Congratulations To The Class of 2001
Congratulations To The Class of 2001
To the Editor:
Congratulations to the graduating Class of 2001 from the Newtown High School. Speaking for all the grandparents who find themselves so far from the Newtown they love, we say âWell Done!â This message goes to both students and educators, both of whom have so much to be proud of. We lived in Newtown for nearly 20 years and our three oldest children, Teresa, Greg, and Todd Murray all graduated from Newtown. Our youngest, Sean, attended the Newtown Schools but graduated from Fairfield Prep. Now, 20 years after her mother, Teresa, graduated from Newtown, Amber Brown will step up to receive her diploma and needless to say we are so very proud of her and what a fine young lady she has become.
Our environment plays an important part of development, and the Connecticut Education System is something both Newtown and the entire state can be proud of. It has provided a caring and nurturing center for so many children and we join all parents, grandparents, and other family members in saying thanks to all the educators who have done so much for the community.
After Amber receives her Newtown High diploma she will be attending the University of Tampa (Florida) where she plans to major in education. Whether she returns to Newtown as an educator (her plan since she was a student at Sandy Hook elementary) or moves on to other parts the world of education will be a better place for the influence Newtown has had on Amber. Once again Congratulations to the Class of 2001.
