Donata “Donna” Durante, 66, of Georgetown, Texas, and a former resident of Sandy Hook, died June 1. She was born June 23, 1948, in Port Chester, N.Y., and was the daughter of the late Marie Antoinette (Mundo) and Nicholas J. Tolla.

After graduating from high school, Ms Durante became a hair stylist in Greenwich, Conn., and enjoyed her work and her many clients. She married Frank Durante, Sr, June 8, 1969, at the Holy Rosary Church in Port Chester. They were happily married until Mr Durante’s death in May of 2002.

The Durantes were the proud parents of two sons, Joe Durante, married to Josie, of Georgetown, Texas, and Frank Durante, Jr, married to Kate, of Middlebury, Conn. Her five grandchildren, the loves of her life, are Frankie, Caroline, Emma, Maggie, and Annie. Her sister, Mary Ann Valbiro; brother, Nicholas J. Tolla, Jr; and her brother-in-law, Patrick LaBella; seven nephews; and two nieces survive Ms Durante, as well.

Ms Durante moved to Georgetown in 2005, for her retirement years. She was a member of Faith Impact Church in Georgetown. She kept busy by attending Bible study, weekend games of dominoes with many friends, and weekly church services. She also enjoyed crocheting blankets for her grandchildren and friends.

A memorial service will take place in the Chapel of the Ramsey Funeral Home, 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, at 10 am, Thursday, June 4. Pastor Charles Moran of Faith Impact Church will officiate.
