Tribute To Dana Brand
Tribute To
Dana Brand
Mets Fan Dana Brand of Sandy Hook, author of multiple books on the Mets, including Last Days at Shea: Delight and Despair in the Life of a Mets Fan, who died unexpectedly May 25, was scheduled to read from the book at the Tappan Library, Tappan, N.Y., June 16.
Howard Megdal, author and Journal News Mets blogger, and Greg Prince, writers for âFaith and Fear in Flushing,â will instead give a reading/tribute to the authorâs work.
A New York Times sports columnist last week described Mr Brandâs first introduction to the team: âIt was 1962, and [he] was listening to the Metsâ inaugural game, and so began a love affair that would last until his death on [May 25].â
Join authors Greg Prince and Howard Megdal at the Tappan Library, Thursday, June 16, at 7 pm, as they read highlights from the sportswriter and die-hard fanâs works, to include Last Days at Shea.
The Tappan Library is at 93 Main Street. Preregister online at www.taplib.org or call the library at 845-359-3877.
