Raising Awareness Of MD
Raising Awareness Of MD
To the Editor:
My husband, Jay Gill, has been purchasing and selling bracelets for Muscular Dystrophy since our grandson at age 3½ was diagnosed with Duchenne just over a year ago. He used the money he raised from the first batch of bracelets to purchase more bracelets and has been recycling the funds purchasing and selling bracelets at cost ever since.
But on May 14, Jim Castelot and Carl Kaffeman of New Milford Cycles, 571 Danbury Road, New Milford, CT 06776 held a grand opening for their newly acquired business. The gentlemen were kind enough to allow us to raise funds for the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy by selling bracelets.
The Parent Project supplied us with balloons, literature and donation forms. My husband purchased 140 bracelets specifically for the event and sold 95 bracelets raising $350 and New Milford Cycles was kind enough to match the $350 raised at the event.
We greatly appreciate the opportunity New Milford Cycles afforded us in helping to raise funds for and awareness of the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy. Thank you to all who purchased bracelets, helping make this event a success.
