Democrats To Hear Congressional Candidate
Waterbury Board of Aldermen President J. Paul Vance, Jr, will address the Newtown Democrats at their monthly meeting next week. Mr Vance is a declared candidate for the Democratic Partyâs nomination to represent Connecticutâs Fifth Congressional District in 2006.
Newtown is one of 41 towns in the District, which is currently represented by Republican Nancy Johnson.
Mr Vanceâs first major fundraiser was held last month, and he has been appearing around the district and on television.
His presentation will run about a half hour on Thursday, June 9. The meeting begins at 8 pm in the Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall. Registered Democrats are urged to attend and the meeting is open to the public.
