CANPFA Honors John Paradise Of Ashlar

Each year the Connecticut Association of Not-for-Profit Providers For the Aging (CANPFA) awards outstanding employees from its 150-member facilities Employee of the Year at the annual CANPFA Expo, a day of celebration and education for providers across the senior housing and long-term care continuum.

John Paradise, environmental services manager at Ashlar of Newtown and Lockwood Lodge was recognized as a 2005 Employee of the Year at this year’s event on May 20.

“John was nominated in honor of his 20 years of extraordinary service. He is a role model for exemplifying Masonicare’s Seven Standards of Service Excellence and what it means to provide customer service at the highest level,” remarked Mag Morelli, president of CANPFA.

“He leads by example and has always demonstrated respect and kindness to residents and patients,” Ms Morelli said as she invited Thomas Gutner, president of Ashlar of Newtown, and John Paradise to the podium to receive his award.

“There is no shortage of words of praise when it comes to John Paradise. He is a leader who balances accountability with fairness and excellent judgment and instincts. The result is a model staff member who asks of his staff only what he’s done himself or what he, himself, would also do,” stated Mr Gutner.

Ashlar of Newtown is part of the Masonicare family, which provides an umbrella of healthcare services and retirement communities statewide.
