Calvin J.         Puente, Jr
Calvin J. Puente Jr, 66, of Sandy Hook, the former owner and operator of Continental Tobacco and Candy-CTC Party Supplies for more than 25 years, and the founder of CAS News and Variety, died on May 30 at Ashlar of Newtown.
Born in Bridgeport, on March 15, 1939, he was the son of the late Calvin Sr and Josephine Force Puente. A US Army veteran, Mr Puente attended Fairfield Prep and was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1957, and also attended Quinnipiac College.
He was the devoted husband of 39 years to Audrey Fedor Puente; father of Christina Lake and her husband, Damian, of West Haven, Annette Puente and her fiancé, Gregory Stearns, of Beaverdam, Va., and Stacy Snow and her husband, Thomas, of Derby; brother of Frances Coates and her husband, Kenneth, of Ocala, Fla., and Virginia Donahue and her husband, Dennis, of Sandy Hook. He is also survived by a loving nephew, Richard Coates and devoted nieces, Kelly Donahue and Kimberly Viadero and her husband, James; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was a devoted lifelong friend of William Dizenzo, Michael Riccio and Philip Stafko and their families.
Friends are invited to meet directly in St Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe on Friday, June 3, at 9:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
