Finishes The Job
To the Editor:
On Saturday, May 14, members of the Lions Club as well as volunteers from Newtown Congregational Church and Newtown United Methodist Church completed the work on a house in Newtown. Some of the projects that were finished included painting the exterior siding and trim, yard clean up, and disposal of accumulated debris.
A special thanks goes to all the young volunteers who so generously gave of their time: Sara Davis, Samantha Friedman, David La Marche, Amy Robinson, Lain Baxter, Alex Masloski, Jackie Ratzing, Mat Cole, Anthony Lucia, Jenna Zigman and Caitlin Weber.
A special note of appreciation to all the dedicated women from both churches who provided food for the workers on both Saturdays. This was also the first time that the Menâs Club of the Methodist Church participated in AmeriCares and we want acknowledge all the work they donated to the project.
Newtown Dunkin Donuts once again generously contributed donuts and coffee that especially helped during break time.
None of this could have been accomplished without the Lionsâ Project Coordinators: Tony Ratzing, Jerry Cole and Denny McLaughlin.
Sincerely,
Paul Arneth
