Three Waldorf School Students Take Prizes
Three Waldorf School Students
Take Prizes
Artwork from 26 Housatonic Valley Waldorf students was submitted to participate in the Danbury Children Firstâs Tenth Annual Multicultural contest. Three of them took home prizes from a field of more than 450 entries. The winners were Tommy Warner Crouch, second prize in second grade category; Emma Green, second in fourth/fifth grade category; and Megan Morrow, third prize in the middle school category.
Multiculturalism is a central component of the Waldorf school curriculum where students begin to study Spanish and German in first grade. Children begin with songs and poems, graduating to grammar in fourth grade, and learning about cultures and traditions throughout.
