Loving, Caring, Giving To All

Margaret Ann Gautiero, 93, widow of Anthony Gautiero, died May 14 at Broward General Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The last of 13 children of John and Mary Sabo, Mrs Gautiero was born in Stratford on December 13, 1912.

 She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Edwards and her husband, Rudy, of Newtown and Phyllis Babasick and her husband, Joseph, of Stratford; a son, Richard Gautiero of Inverness, Fla.; six grandchildren, Paul and Sharon Babasick of Houston, Texas, Dr David Lauren Babasick of Zanesville, Ohio, Kim and Ross Gentile of Washington Depot, Cindy and Ken Leili of New Milford, Mark and Terra Edwards of Danbury and Gary and Debbie Edwards of Middlebury; six great-grandchildren, Derrick Allen of Newtown, Bradley Edwards of Middlebury, Andrew and Olivia Babasick of Houston, Kiera Leili of New Milford, and Cole Edwards of Danbury; and a dear friend, Rebecca “Becky” Mosley of West Palm Beach, Fla.

Mrs Gautiero was a loving, caring, and giving person. No one ever left her home without taking oranges, lemons, and grapefruits from the many fruit trees of which she was so proud.

Following a Mass of Christian Burial in Queen of Martyrs Church in Fort Lauderdale, Mrs Gautiero was laid to rest in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
