A Record Weekend For Coffee And…
A Record Weekend For
Coffee Andâ¦
To the Editor,
Boy Scout Troop 370 enjoyed beautiful weather over this Memorial Day weekend while hosting their annual free Coffee Stop. In spite of high gas prices, scouts and their families served dozens of donuts and bagels, and over 2,000 cups of coffee, tea, and cold drinks to a record number of travelers.
Troop 370 hosts the coffee stop as one of their community service projects. In December the troop assists on Depot Day by unloading and reloading packages to be delivered to needy families in our local area.
Troop 370 is proud to participate in both service projects.
We especially want to acknowledge and thank the many individuals and local businesses who helped to make this coffee stop a success. With sincere gratitude the members of Troop 370 thank the following: Associated Refuse Haulers; Bagel Delight; Berkshire Veterinary Hospital; Big Y; The Blue Colony Diner; Cedar Hill Electric; Chartwells School Dining Services; the Chefâs Warehouse, Bronx, N.Y.; Costco; Connecticut State Department of Tourism; Costco; Friendly Service Station-Citgo, Newtown; Mobil Station, Newtown; Shell Station, Newtown; MSC Industrial Supply; My Place; Newtown Hardware; Newtown United Methodist Church; Mr Noie Richards; Pizza Palace; Shawâs of Southbury; Stew Leonard; Stop & Shop; Wal-Mart; The Town of Newtown; the Zoning, Conservation, Building, Health, Public Works and the Parks and Recreation Departments; Dunkinâ Donuts, Monroe; and Dunkinâ Donuts, Newtown.
Sincerely,
Donna Sapienza
