Newtown High School's boys' tennis team earned the No. 1 seed in the Class L State Tournament and won its first-round match with a 4-3 decision over No. 17 Simsbury at Newtown High School on May 25. NHS went on to lose 4-1 to No. 8 Wilton in the quarterfinals at Treadwell Park on May 28.

In the win over Simsbury Newtown's top three singles players, A.J. Singh, Frankie Cannizzo, and Aarav Shetty all came out on top as did the No. 3 doubles tandem of Liam Conlin and Theo Anderson. In the loss to Wilton Cannizzo won his match.
