Wings Over Beardsley Zoo
BRIDGEPORT â The Beardsley Zoo, with support from United Illuminating Company, will present Sundays in June filled with hawks, owls, and eagles, all showcased at Professor Beardsleyâsâ Research Station.
Julie Collier of WingMasters in Springfield, Mass., will be bringing her birds of prey to the zoo for three shows every Sunday in June at 12:30, 1:30, and 2:30 pm. The zoo is at 1875 Noble Avenue, and signs are posted from I-95 and the Route 25 connector.
Ms Collier rehabilitates and cares for injured birds of prey that cannot be released into the wild. She and her feathered friends travel throughout New England, educating audiences about the lives of birds. The bird shows are free to all Beardsley Zoo visitors.
Zoo admission is $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 3 to 11, and free for children under 3. For more information call the Zoo Info Line at 203/394-6565 or visit the zooâs web site at www.beardsleyzoo.org.
