New Show At Fine Line Gallery
WOODBURY â âBy The Roadside⦠things seen but not always noticedâ is the new show at Fine Line Art Gallery. The show, which features the watercolor and colored pencil work of Marilyn Ventresca DiChiara of Northfield, will continue through June 25.
Many watercolor pieces in the show depict one of Ms DiChiaraâs favorite subject matter: antiquated autos. A pick-up truck rusting away at a nearby farm, another a barely recognizable shell surrounded by flowers, convey a touch of nostalgia, a link to a time past, says the artist.
Also included is the colored pencil piece titled âSand Dollar.â Decades of harsh ocean weather have created a wealth of texture on Cape Cod window, which the artist has captured along with a strong sense of solitude.
Almost all the pieces are very recognizable in Ms DiChiaraâs works. They are things that have subconsciously been seen but not always noticed. The artist brings them to the attention of viewers and makes them aware of their beauty.
Fine Line Art Gallery is at 682 Main Street South, on the second floor. Gallery hours are 11 am to 5 pm Thursday through Sunday. For any additional information call the gallery at 266-0110.
