An Armchair Travel Through Israel
An Armchair Travel Through Israel
RIDGEFIELD â This month, the Dayton Room at Ridgefield Public Library will welcome visitors for an exhibition of photographs by the husband and wife team of Rita L. Frost and Francis J. Caro.
The Newtown couple recently returned from their latest trip to Israel and is celebrating this return with a presentation of some of the 1,000 photographs taken while in the Middle East earlier this year. The exhibit, âJourney Through Israel,â will be on view June 7 to June 28.
The photographers will make an in-person appearance on Thursday, June 15, to officially open the exhibit and share some stories from their travels. (A full feature on the couple and their trip will appear in the June 9 issue of The Newtown Bee.)
The Caros have won several awards for their entries of Tuscany and Brittany photographs in addition to their most recent Israel work. They each have a strong background in their field: Ms Frost acted as an executive member of Ridgefield Guild of Artists for many years while working as an avid painter in addition to her photography, and Mr Caro was the director of Frank Caro Gallery on Madison Avenue for several years.
Celebrated for their discriminatory eye for the hidden, characteristic and intimate shots of Israel, Ms Frost and Mr Caro invite visitors to their Ridgefield exhibit the opportunity to armchair travel to a land that is as rich in history and culture as it is beautiful to behold.
Ridgefield Library, at 472 Main Street/Route 35, is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am to 6 pm; Tuesday and Thursday, 10 am to 9 pm; Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm; and Sunday during the school year from 1 to 5 pm.
