Police Probe Reports Of ‘Suspicious Activity’
Police this week said they are investigating reports from residents who have alerted them of “suspicious activity” in their neighborhoods.
In response to reports of suspicious activity from people living in Sandy Hook, including the Riverside section, as well as Buttonball Drive and Walnut Tree Hill Road areas, police are investigating, according to police spokesman Lieutenant Aaron Bahamonde.
Such suspicious activity reportedly is discovered after the fact by people returning to their residences to find garage doors partially open and shed doors open after the people had been away only briefly.
Lt Bahamonde urges that residents secure their premises before they leave by locking doors and windows. Police have received “a couple of calls” on the situation, he said. Police have no suspects.
Also, police are monitoring a case involving a suspicious man who has been seen in Dodgingtown, in the Birch Hill Road area, near Hyvue Road, the lieutenant said. Police know the identity of the man whose movements in the area have been reported to them as suspicious, Lt Bahamonde said.
Police initially came into contact with that man several weeks ago, the lieutenant commented, adding that the man has been visiting a friend who lives in that area.
Lt Bahamonde urges that residents report to them any activity that they consider to be suspicious by contacting police at the police station at 203-426-5841.
