Kids-On-Campus Registration
Is Underway At NVCC
WATERBURY ââ Registration is underway for Naugatuck Valley Community Collegeâs popular Kids-on-Campus program. Now in its 22nd year, KOC provides summer enrichment opportunities for students entering grades four through ten.
More than a dozen new courses have been added to this yearâs schedule, including Irish culture, career exploration in law and health care, knitting, singing, playwriting, poetry, and environmental science. In addition, a variety of past favorites are again being offered in subjects such as acting, computer technology, art, cooking, crime busting, architecture, archaeology, biology, chemistry, math, guitar, sign language, photography, dance, and sports and fitness.
âI loved the Kids-on-Campus actorâs workshop,â said Marissa Ranalli, an eighth-grade student at Swift Junior High School in Watertown. âMy experience performing in last yearâs play gave me the confidence to audition for community theater and dance productions. KOC is already on my calendar for this summer, because I wouldnât miss this outstanding program for my life!â
The program begins August 4 and runs through August 15. Half-day and full-day options are available. Students who are registered for morning and afternoon sessions will have a supervised lunch break from noon to 1 pm in the cafeteria. Students may bring a bag lunch or purchase their meals.
The cost for most courses is $199, plus lab fees, if applicable, unless otherwise noted in the KOC catalog. Additional children in the same household can register for $149 per course. Classes are offered on a first come, first served basis. The registration deadline is June 20.
