How would you describe your occupation? I manage the business of Edmond Town Hall, which includes rentals and programming. What is most exciting is the growth of the live music series. We have done several seasons of the series, and they keep getting better and better. We have sold-out shows, and repeat concert-goers. Although our sponsor network is strong, we’re always trying to increase that and developing those relationships is a big part of my job. Meeting people in town has been really nice. I love it; I’ve been there for over four years.

Do you have any pets? Phoebe, a six-year-old Wheaten terrier. She comes to work with me when I know it’s going to be a quiet day, and sits right behind me at my desk. Most times, you would never know she was there. She’s fabulous.

Who is in your family? My husband and I have been married since 1994. My daughter Julia is 22. She recently graduated from UCLA, and now works and lives in Manhattan. Tyler is 19, and goes to school at the University of Miami.

How long have you lived in Newtown? Almost 20 years.

What do you like to do in your free time? I love to garden now that the weather’s getting nice. I love to hike, and I love to bike ride.

What organizations are you a part of in town? I am a part of the Friends of Edmond Town Hall, and I am on the board for Congregation Adath Israel.

What’s your favorite book? Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl. I read it when I was around her age. Here’s this girl entering her teenage years in 1942, gone from this full, beautiful life, to hiding in an attic from the Nazis. Through all this, the suffering and troubles of war, her human spirit is so positive. To see that always amazed me, and always stuck with me, maybe because I was a Jewish girl.

If you could spend the day with one person, who would you choose? James Cordon. I’d have the best day driving around doing carpool karaoke with him.

Who is your favorite musical artist? I love Tom Petty and I love Red Hot Chili Peppers.

What is the greatest piece of advice you’ve ever been given? The advice I always got from my grandmother and my mother was “this too shall pass.” I say that to my kids, now, as well. The real message is, you can’t struggle with the small problems, because tomorrow is going to be a brighter day. Often, I take a deep breath, and think “this too shall pass.”

What is something you can’t live without? Hiking and being outdoors.

What is your favorite travel destination? Block Island, for sure. It’s so carefree. There’s hiking, biking, going to the beach, barbecuing, and great outdoor live music. We have been going there for 15 years.

What is the best part of Newtown? I love the small town feel and bumping into friends all the time, and I love the beautiful views. It’s the friendliness and beauty that the town exudes.
