Woman’s Club

Elects New Board

On Thursday, May 20, Newtown Woman’s Club, GFWC, Inc, announced its new board for 2010-11 during a meeting at The Stone Hill Inn.

Gladys McLaughlin has been named the club’s new president.

Additional officers and their positions include JoAnn Bruno and Nancy Kennedy, co-first vice presidents; Pat Bailey and Julie Wood, co-second vice presidents; Debbie Stakel, corresponding secretary; Marie Sturdevant, recording secretary; Lorraine Vanderwende, historian; Peg Forbell, treasurer; and Pat Denlinger, assistant treasurer.

The club’s outgoing presidents are Marilyn Alexander and Yvonne Kopins.

Special guest at the Newtown club’s meeting was JoAnn Calnen, the recently elected president of Connecticut Woman’s Club, GFWC, Inc.
