*ZOX will be in The Lounge at Tuxedo Junction in Danbury tonight (Friday, May 28). This is a new booking that just became available, which is why the show wasn’t mentioned sooner. Spencer Swain of Newtown is a member of this band, which has been having a fantastic year between capacity shows and winning awards across the country.

Doors for The Lounge will be opening around 9 and Zox, the “violin laced reggae punk” band from Providence (says their website), will be onstage around 10:30. The evening will also include performances by THE LINGO and THE CASUAL FIASCO. Admission is $5, and the show is for ages 21 and over.

Tuxedo Junction’s mainstage will be headlined by the U2 tribute band 2U. Call the club, 748-2561, for details.

Zox will also be playing at this year’s the SoNo Arts Celebration in South Norwalk. The band will be headlining on the mainstage on Saturday, August 7, at 3 pm. This is exciting news for the Connecticut friends dying to see this exciting band.

The 28th Annual SoNo Arts Celebration will be taking place the weekend of August 7-8 in the streets of historic South Norwalk. The celebration will run from 10 am until midnight on Saturday, with general events running until 8 that night and then a street parade from 8 pm on. The festival then resumes on Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm, with a Giant Puppet Parade at 3 pm.

The celebration is a non-profit event that takes place every August in South Norwalk to support original music, art and community spirit. Tons of details will be added to the roster in upcoming weeks; send an email to info@SoNoArts.org or visit www.SoNoArts.org.

Zox is constantly adding show dates and other information to its web pages as well; visit www.ZoxBand.com.

*MorganEve Swain’s band ONCE REMOVED plays at the Gaelic-America Club Friday night too. The club is in Fairfield at 74 Beach Road.

The band will be in the club’s pub, with showtime planned for 9 pm.

“Rumor has it that [MorganEve] may show up for a quick guest appearance with her brother Spencer and Zox,” the musicians’ mother, Colleen Swain, hinted this week. “We’ll see. Timing is everything and demand is high for the fiddler! Two electric violins on stage?! Last time they did that was Lupo’s in Providence, and we missed it!

“Or maybe Spence will show up at the GAC,” she added. “That’s happened before. Fun to be sure no matter what happens.”

*Clear Channel Entertainment announced this week that the Marc Anthony Nada Personal Tour – which has been scheduled (and tickets were already on sale for) to stop at Mohegan Sun Arena on Monday, June 28 – has been postponed until further notice.

“Due to the delay in production of my two albums, I have chosen to postpone my Nada Personal tour until November. Instead, I will allocate the summer months to the promotion of my new CDs. I look forward to seeing you all soon,” Anthony said in a released statement.

Fans who purchased tickets via phone or Internet will have their account automatically credited. Fans who purchased tickets at an outlet may return them for a refund at the point of purchase.

*I have a note that tickets for GLORIA ESTEFAN will be going on sale June 5 for a September 11 concert at Mohegan Sun Arena, including the details that box office sales will be conducted through a wristband system (with a limited number of bands being handed out at 7 am next Saturday), but don’t see anything on the venue’s website this week.

I do, however, see the show listed on the performer’s website so just in case, the tickets for this show have been set at $76 and $96.

Until next week I’ll be seeing you… on the road.

Shows listed at club locations are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
