BETHEL â Plumtrees Animal Hospital will present its annual Pet Fair on Sunday, June 6, at the Fairfield County Agricultural Center. The event will run from 10 am to 2 pm. Admission is free.
People and pets are invited to participate in a day of activities and demonstrations. New puppies will be able to take a kindergarten obedience class, and clinics will be offered by staff members of the animal hospital to help pet owners trim their petsâ nails and brush their petsâ teeth safely and efficiently.
The animal hospital also expects to have cats and dogs available for adoption.
A local competition for the 2004 Hyperflite Skyhoundz Canine Disc Championship will also be held on Saturday. Registration opens at 10:30, and there is no entry fee for competitors.
Contestants and their canine teammates will earn points for basic throws and catches, with bonus points for mid-air catches in the distance and accuracy event. The event welcomes mixed breed as well as purebred dogs. Novice and veteran competitors alike are encouraged to compete.
All competitors will receive a free official Hyperflite K-10 Competition Standard Flying Disc, and the first, second and third place teams will receive award plaques.
Hyperflite sponsors the 2004 championship series, which is comprised of more than 100 local championships, seven regional championships, and the world championship.
