Joseph Feher, 73, of Newtown carded his first hole-in-one ever on the 126-yard, par-3 eighth hole at Minnechaug Golf Course in Glastonbury. Mr Feher used a nine-iron to achieve the ace and had Archie Smith of Rockville and Jerry Smith on Glastonbury on hand to witness the feat.
Pete Samoskevich of Newtown carded a hole in one on the 145-yard, par-3 11th hole at Shaftesbury Glen Golf & Fish Club in Conway, South Carolina. Pete used a 7-iron to record his first ever hole in one and had Joe Guevara, Ed Giannacore and Dustin Colter on hand to witness the feat.

Tuesday, June 1 â The Junior League of Greater Waterbury will hold its Womenâs Golf Classic, Luncheon & Fashion Show on Tuesday, June 1, at the Watertown Golf Club on Guernseytown Road in Watertown. Registration will open at 10:30 am with lunch and fashion show to follow from 11:30 am to 1 pm. The tournament will commence with a shotgun start at 1:30 pm and will include hole-in-one, closest to the pin, and longest drive prizes. Hors dâoeuvres and cocktails awards reception will follow at 6 pm. Feel is $180 per player and include golf, the fashion show and lunch, and the awards reception. Monday, June 7 â The Housatonic Valley Waldorf School will hosts its second annual Benefit Golf Tournament on Monday, June 7, at 9 am, at Candlewood Valley Country Club in New Milford. Fee of $135 includes breakfast, greens fees, cart, lunch, full dinner and prizes. A $10,000 hole-in-one contest will be held as will raffles and a silent auction. Saturday, June 19 â The 20th annual Tex Alex Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, June 19, at Fairview Farms Golf Course in Harwinton. It will be a scramble tournament with an 8 am shotgun start. The tournament is held in honor of the legendary educator and coach who died of cancer in 1984.
