A Case For Term Limits

To the Editor:

The website www.fundrace.org lists Rep Julia B. Wasserman as the contributor of $1,000 to the campaign of Howard Dean. She is also seeking to be reelected this year as a Republican Representative to the State Legislature. Rep Wasserman could have donated $1,000 to the campaign of the President George W. Bush or her own instead. Is it ethical for her to ask for the political contributions?

In my opinion, one way to diminish a moral corruption of the political process would be to introduce term limits. Unfortunately, politicians could now expect that thanks to the power of incumbency, they will not be accountable for lapses in good judgment.
