William Daniel James Melton, 66, of Monroe, died May 25, at St Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport. He was born in North Carolina, and was the son of the late Joe and Madge Melton.

 His beloved wife, Gwen Thompson Melton, of Monroe; two devoted daughters, Erin and her husband, David Harrington, Jr, of Newtown, and Jessica Melton of Washington DC; two cherished grandchildren; and loving mother-in-law Elizabeth Thompson survive Mr Melton.

He was a retired final assembler for Allied Signal in Stratford. Mr Melton was a member of the UAW Local #1010, a member of the Masons in Monroe Lodge # 19, and a member of St Jude’s Knights of Columbus in Monroe.

Friends are invited to attend his funeral services Wednesday, May 28, at noon, at St Jude’s Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Tuesday, May 27, from 4 to 8 pm, at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Pains Road, Trumbull.
