Sipping Tea

For A New Senior Bus

To the Editor:

We would like to thank the many supporters of the Victorian Tea held on May 15 to kick off the fundraising for the seniors’ handicapped replacement bus.

Simpson and Vail supplied the delicious teas. We had silent auction items from Double Muse, Laura Warren, Newtown Deli & Catering, Newtown Pizza Palace, My Place, Villarina, UK Gourmet, Nina Nail Spa, Yankee Wine & Spirits, Toro Restaurant, David Merrill, The Villa, Franco’s, and Julie Allen Bridal.

We also would like to thank our tireless volunteers, Ben Murphy, Theresa Zimmer, Sara Frampton, Laura Warren, William Frampton, Terry Laslo, Beth Koschel, Ivonne Manz, and Nicole Santos. A special thanks to the Children’s Adventure Center for allowing us to use their kitchen space.

The Commission on Aging accepted a bid for a used replacement bus at its May 16 meeting. (Minutes are online.) We now know we need to raise $22,320. We still have raffle tickets, they will be sold at the duck race this weekend. If you would like to help or donate, please contact one of us. All of our phone numbers are listed or you can drop an e-mail to 4fundraiser@gmail.com and we will get back to you.

Thank you for considering this worthwhile and necessary project.

Sincerely,

Anna Wiedemann
