Police said they have charged the man who allegedly drove the getaway car in two local robberies that occurred in June 2010.
Police said they arrested Carl Valluzzo, 38, of Danbury, at the Danbury Superior Court prisoner lockup on May 18.
Valluzzo was charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and with two counts of conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny, police said.
A judge arraigned Valluzzo on May 18. Valluzzo pleaded not guilty to all charges. He is scheduled to return to Danbury Superior Court on June 1.
Valluzzo also has eight other criminal charges involving robbery, burglary, and conspiracy pending in Waterbury Superior Court stemming from incidents in Waterbury, Naugatuck, and Middlebury.
Valluzzo was being held on $441,000 bail on May 25 in Garner Correctional Institution.
Valluzzo has been a prisoner since he was arrested on other charges last June 17.
The Newtown charges stem from the June 13 robbery of the GameStop electronic game store at Sand Hill Plaza on South Main Street, and also the June 17 robbery of Newtown Savings Bank on Main Street.
Police allege that Valluzzo drove the getaway car in both robberies in which Shane Parsons, 37, formerly of Bonnie Brae Drive, Newtown, was the robber.
Last July, Newtown police served multiple felony arrest warrants against Parsons charging him with 26 criminal offenses stemming from 13 incidents in Newtown, including the GameStop and the Newtown Savings Bank robberies.
In the Newtown Savings Bank robbery, police charged Parsons with first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, second-degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny.
The charges filed against Parsons in the GameStop robbery are first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, second-degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny.
Parsons has pleaded not guilty to charges pending against him in connection with incidents in Newtown.
Parsons is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on June 1. He is being held on $814,000 bail at the MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution in Suffield.
