Win-Win Situation For Newtown

To the Editor:

I urge the powers to be of Newtown to do their utmost to locate a consolidated military base of Reserve and National Guard here in town.

The 30 or so acres in the Commerce Road area would be an ideal location, with I-84 exits. The base would have a minimum impact on traffic in town. It would create civilian jobs and generate some revenue for the town, also with the military personnel spending in town.

A possibility, a reservist may view Newtown as an excellent place to bring his or her business here. I believe the plus possibilities are there, so let’s see Newtown make an all out effort to have this facility locate here.
