Mr and Mrs James Russell Haskin

Laura Giesen, daughter of Jim and JoAnn Giesen of The Boulevard in Newtown, and James Russell Haskin, son of Lawrence Haskin and the late Joan Haskin of Portsmouth, R.I., were joined in matrimony May 14 at The Corolla Chapel, Corolla, N.C. Father Joseph Klaus officiated the ceremony.

Ms Giesen, given in marriage by her father, Jim Giesen, wore an Amsale bridal gown and carried a ribbon-wrapped bouquet of calla lilies.

Jessica Braunwart of North Salem, N.Y., served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Anne Flaherty, Durham, N.C., Katherine Giesen, Aldie, Va., Kristin Haskin, Portsmouth, and Alicia Loza, Richmond, Va. The attendants wore Kathlin Argiro dresses and carried bouquets of hydrangea. Julia Williams of Westford, Mass., served as flower girl.

Lawrence Haskin of Portsmouth was the best man. Ushers at the wedding were Bill Giesen, Aldie, Va., Brian Giesen, Boston, Michael Giesen, Newtown, Derek Arruda, Fall River, Mass., Andrew Cardoza, Stanford, Conn., and Hunt Heffner and Christian Schwarzkopf, Richmond, Va.

A reception followed the ceremony at The Sanderling in Duck, N.C.

Ms Giesen graduated from Newtown High School. She received her bachelor of science from the University of Richmond and her master of science from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is an NICU nurse at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital.

Mr Haskin is a graduate of Portsmouth High School and received his bachelor of science from the University of Richmond. He is presently employed as a marketing analyst by Ridefinders.

The couple is at home in Midlothian, Va., after a wedding trip to Tahiti and Bora Bora.
