The Newtown Girl Scouts are hosting a Family Partnership Event on Saturday, June 18. All Girl Scouts and girls (entering grades K–12) interested in becoming a Girl Scout in the fall of 2005 are invited to a girls’ morning out at the movies at Edmond Town Hall for a 10 am showing of Troop Beverly Hills starring Shelley Long and Craig T. Nelson.

All girls must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. The cost is a $10 per child and adult, tax deductible contribution to the Girl Scout Council of Southwestern Connecticut, Inc. Advance tickets may be purchased by sending checks payable to GSCSWCT to Selena Henderson, 8 Merlin’s Lane, Newtown CT 06470.

The Girl Scouts are currently forming troops for fall and forms will be available to request to have entry in a troop. Troop placement is correlated to the number of adult volunteer leaders; adult volunteers are needed to make Girl Scouting possible. Any woman who would like to share her skills and talents is invited to consider becoming a Girl Scout leader.
