Hat City Blues Band Says Thanks
Hat City Blues Band Says Thanks
To the Editor:
The members of the Hat City Blues Band would like to extend their profound thanks to all who helped make the 3rd Annual Hat City Blues Band Benefit Concert for Newtown Youth Services such a success.
More than 100 people filled the Fireside Inn on Saturday, May 21, and danced, bought raffle tickets, bid on auction items, and had a great time while raising a record amount of $3,100. That total brings the amount raised since the eventâs inception in 2003 to more than $7,600.
Thanks go to Donald and his staff for hosting the event at the Fireside Inn and to the great kids (YABs) at NYS, without whom we couldnât have had such a great success: Samantha and Stephanie Villa, Dylan Kelleher, Tina Hartlett, and Natasha. Thanks also to Sable and Alex who sold more than $300 worth of tickets on an early Saturday morning in front of Dunkinâ Donuts.
Thanks to our special musical guests who helped spice up the evening: The Doug Whalberg Band, Clashing Headstocks, and Anne Conte of the Newtown Color Center who belted out a great rendition of âIt Hurts So Bad.â
Thanks to Roseanne Loring, Joy Kopesky, and Tony Pozzi at NYS who printed up and distributed tickets and flyers, organized the YABs, and beat the bushes for additional support.
And finally, many thanks to our sponsors, too numerous to mention here, some of whom participated for the third consecutive year:
We look forward to our next event!
