At Lunch Program
SOUTHBURY â The public is invited to make reservations for a special storytelling program on Tuesday, May 31, at the Love & Knishes Lunch Program being sponsored by Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut.
Storyteller Joyce Marie Rayno of Southbury will entertain with legends from Connecticut towns and cities. Her tales include âThe Black Dog of West Peakâ from Meriden, âThe New Milford Talking Stove,â and âThe Telltale Applesâ from Norwich.
The program will begin at noon. Suggested donation is $5.50 for seniors, $8 for those age 60 and under.
Ms Rayno has been telling stories for 14 years and shares them with âchildren of all ages, from 1 to 101.â She has participated in Tellabration, A Night of Storytelling for Adults, for several years.
She performs at schools, libraries, hospitals, parks, and festivals, as well as at private parties. She is also affiliated with The Glebe House Museum in Woodbury and entertains children on group visits to the museum.
Most of her programs are customized to each individual whim and fancy, or profound thought, and cover a wide range of folktales, fairytales, Indian legends, and child and adult classics.
Reservations must be made for this program. It will take place in the social hall at the Walzer Family Jewish Community Campus, 444 Main Street North.
Lunch is served at noon and the story telling begins at 1 pm.
