Buy A Flower For The Ambulance Garage

Members of the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Association are hoping that when residents are out buying annuals or perennials for their own yards, they will pick up an extra pot or two and bring it by the Mt Pleasant Road (Route 6) ambulance garage on Saturday, June 4, to help spruce up the facility.

“We would like to plant some nice flowers, annuals, perennials, bushes and [also need] mulch to put around the plants,” said Blair Balmforth, chairperson of an outdoor beautification project the volunteer corps is undertaking.

“We are looking for donations from the wonderful people of Newtown,” he said. “Whatever you can give to us would be most appreciated.”

The garage is located north of the flagpole in the area where the Labor Day Parade lines up.

If the volunteer ambulance crew is out on a call, donors are asked to leave their plants behind the building.
