Anti-Rabies Clinic A Success
Anti-Rabies Clinic A Success
To the Editor:
Last Saturday we held our 20th annual Low Cost Anti-Rabies Clinic in Newtown. We vaccinated 71 cats and dogs. This clinic was made possible by two local veterinarians, Dr Brian Silverlieb and Dr Maria Lagana of Mount Pleasant Hospital for Animals and their assistants, Mary Simpson and Darryl Silverlieb â all of whom donated their time and service â my very special thanks to each of them.
I would also like to extend many thanks to the following volunteers from the Newtown Womanâs Club, who for the 13th year assisted at the clinic: Mary Antey, Ruth Campbell, Pat Denlinger, Ellyn Gehrett, Patty OâByrne, Ruth Schulz, Marion Thompson, and Lorraine Vanderwende. Special thanks also go to Canine Advocates volunteers Virginia Jess and Adria Henderson who donated their time to help with the animal control. Susan Shpunt and Lynn McCann from the town llerkâs office were also on hand and issued the new 2005 dog licenses.
Thanks again to all who helped to make this annual clinic a success.
Sincerely,
Cynthia S. Simon
