Rotary Offers Free Foreign Study Trips
Rotary Offers Free Foreign Study Trips
Applications are now being accepted by area Rotary clubs for foreign study trips for young Connecticut business and professional people.
These unique international vocational and cultural experiences in a foreign country are fully paid by Rotary International Foundation through their Group Study Exchange Program. Eight positions are available; four to London, England, in October of this year, and four to Taipei, Taiwan, in April, 2001. Each trip will last four weeks.
The Rotary program promotes international understanding by exchanging visits of young business and professional people with their counterparts overseas.
The successful applicants will have full schedules and every week each team member will live with a different Rotary family in the area. They will exchange ideas, views, and methodologies with people in their own occupations, develop professional and personal relationships, and gain a deep understanding of the host countryâs culture. Each group will be led by a Connecticut Rotarian.
Applicants must be US citizens, between the 25 and 40 years of age, live or work in Rotary District 7980 (the four lower counties of Connecticut), and be enthusiastic about their respective vocations. Interested persons should contact their local Rotary Club or Ed Osterman at 426-0530. Applications must be made promptly as candidate interviews will begin very shortly.
Since the programâs inception in 1984, Rotary GSE participants from this area have traveled to South Africa, Argentina, the Philippines, India, Australia, Switzerland, France, Germany, Turkey, Brazil, India, and Sweden.
