The People Behind The Scenes

To the Editor,

The fourth year of the Newtown Job Seekers Support Group has come to a close. On behalf of the hundreds of people who have attended the meetings over this passage of time, I’d like to thank the people behind the scenes who are critical to the success of our group.

Our St Rose of Lima family, Father Bob Weiss, Marge McAvoy, and Jean Otton, thank you for providing the meeting space and information in the bulletin each month. Cheryl Schwartz, I am grateful to you for filling in and leading the group when those scheduling conflicts arise, you are the best. To the many volunteers who have served as guest speakers I have learned a great deal from the generous knowledge you have shared.

Finally, I thank The Bee and Kaaren Valenta in particular for the faithful coverage you have given our group. When Kaaren writes an article about our upcoming events the intelligence and caring for people always shines brightly. We will be back in the fall!
