Occupation: I’m a stay-at-home mom. I earned a bachelor of arts from Western Connecticut State University in biochemistry, and formerly worked at pharmaceutical firms. Next semester I hope to take graduate classes.

How Long in Newtown: We bought our house two years ago, but my husband has lived in Newtown all his life. I grew up in Redding.

Biggest Change You Have Seen in Town: The biggest change was when they changed the route through Fairfield Hills. Now trucks don’t go through the center of town.

Family: My husband Patrick and I have been married for four years. We have two children, Elizabeth Paige, 2, and Madelaine Rose, 5 months.

Hobbies: Having a cup of coffee and reading the paper. I once liked to ski and go rock climbing. Now I’m putting baby books together and speed shopping with the kids. We go on walks and hikes with the kids. There are a lot of nice places to walk in Newtown. The parks here are great.

Favorite Books and Authors: I do like to read when I have time. I enjoy medical mystery novels by Patricia Cornwell and Robin Cook. The library also has a lot of good nonfiction books that I enjoy, such as on DNA and what has been learned since it was discovered.

Favorite TV Show: CSI, American Dreams, West Wing.

Organizations: I am a member of Newtown Newcomers, and coordinate a Helping Hands Committee that is designed for Newtown Newcomers who need help, such as if they had a baby or are sick. We give a little help, such as meals and rides to the hospital. We make life a little easier when life is not being easy on them. I really love it, and people really appreciate it.

Most Vivid Memory About Newtown: My favorite thing is sitting on the bench in front of the Ice Cream Shop. I love that. Everybody goes there.

Favorite Vacation Spot: I really love the Caribbean. The Caribbean water is so beautiful.

Personal Philosophy: Plan for the future, enjoy life each day, and hug and kiss your family whenever you can, because life is too short, and you never know what is going to happen next.
