Newtown Craft Fair This Weekend

The public is invited to the 2nd Annual Newtown Craft Fair which will take place rain or shine on Saturday, May 24, from 10 am to 5 pm. The event will be presented at Canaan House and grounds at Fairfield Hills, off Mile Hill Road in Newtown.

The event is being sponsored by Newtown High School Marching Band and Color Guard in cooperation with Newtown Lions Club, which will be holding the “Great Pootatuck Duck Race” at 2 pm on Saturday, May 24, on the banks of the Pootatuck River in Sandy Hook. In addition, Newtown Soccer Club will round out the day’s events with their annual tournament in town.

The craft fair is a juried event and only high quality, handmade and original items will be featured. More than 30 crafters from throughout the New England area are slated to exhibit unique items including wood and leather crafts, photo art, ceramics and silver jewelry.

Admission to the fair is free and refreshments will be available all day.
