NEW YORK, New York - Patricia W. Laurans of Newtown has been assigned to judge Australian Shepherds, Border Collies and Canaan Dogs for the 128th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on February 9 and 10, 2004.

NEW YORK, New York – Patricia W. Laurans of Newtown has been assigned to judge Australian Shepherds, Border Collies and Canaan Dogs for the 128th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on February 9 and 10, 2004.

Judges for the 162 breeds and varieties eligible for the competition have been assigned. Heading the panel will be Best in Show judge Burton J. Yamada of Lake Arrowhead, California.

Mr Yamada is a well-known breeder of Standard Schnauzers. For more than 35 years, he has been involved in the sport of showing dogs and has been active in the Breed and All-Breed Clubs while serving as president and director of the Standard Schnauzer Club of American, the Standard Schnauzer Club of Southern California, and the Orange Empire Dog Club.

Judges for the seven variety groups are – Mrs Judith Goodin of Leavenworth, Kansas (Sporting); Dr John Reeve-Newson of Toronto, Canada (Hound); Mrs James Edward Clark of Greenwood, Delaware (Working); Elliott B. Weiss of Eagle, Idaho (Terrier); Mrs Dawn Vick Hansen of Elkhorn, Wisconsin Toy); Betty Regina Leininger of Frisco, Texas (Non-Sporting); and Lester Mapes of Monson, Massachusetts (Herding).
