Innocent Until Proven Guilty
Innocent Until Proven Guilty
To the Editor:
The dismissal of Newtownâs Social Services director probably raised some eyebrows around town. The way in which it was done should instill anger in every citizen. Was it really necessary for our first selectman to stand by as she cleaned out her desk? Was it necessary to have a uniformed police officer present as well?
Perhaps the firing was appropriate, perhaps not, but Mr Rosenthalâs reply to questions was âno comment.â This is totally unacceptable. Ms Lanzetta deserves her day in court. Unfortunately, she was tried and convicted on the front page of last Fridayâs edition of the Danbury News Times. She is totally innocent of all charges until proven guilty. This is the American Way.
