Ian Mason singled in Dan Spencer in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Blue team to a 12-11 win over the White team in the Newtown Babe Ruth Baseball American League division All Star game on Sunday.

Blue rallied back from a 9-2 deficit. In the bottom of the seventh, with the score knotted 11-11, Spencer led off with a single and was pushed to third when Robert Brautigam and Dash Jeffries were issued walks. Mason then followed with his single.

Blue did get on the board first on an RBI single by Charlie LoBosco, but White struck back with six runs in the top of the second inning on hits by Kevin Bonacci, Brian Murphy and Mitch Bloomberg. In the third. White struck again with three more runs off singles by Dan Quinn and Matt Mascolo and a triple by Bret LeBlanc.

Trailing 9-2 heading into the fourth inning, Blue was not deterred and began to rally. Mickey Fay, John Gouveia, Nick Saviano and Charlie Lobosco (a double) fueled the rally. White, meanwhile, was being powered by Steve Osmolik (double), Mack Fuller (RBI single) and Max Muraskiewicz (RBI double).

Newtown 9, Bethel 7 – Brendon Reilly ripped a three-run double in the top of the seventh inning to lead Newtown back from a three-run deficit to capture the win. Matt Gaudert added an RBI single in the game while Scudder Baggett and Jesse Furphy combined to do a stellar job on the mound.

Classic Designs of New England 7, Kling Brothers Construction 0 – David Rodriguez, Ryan Boucher, Ryan Clark and Nick Urso combined on a spectacular no-hitter to lead Classic Designs to the win. Clark and Urso each went 2-for-3 at the plate while Ian Herwig was solid in the field. For Kling Brothers, Jared Modzelewski, Blake Barreto and Jason Smith all played well.

Classic Designs of New England 6, Brookfield (#1) 3 – Ryan Boucher and Nick Urson banged out two hits apiece while David Rodriguez and Urso scored two runs apiece to lead Classic Designs to the win. Daniel Cassidy and Graham Moller both hit the ball hard.

Classic Designs of New England 11, Bethel (#3) 4 – Ian Herwig and Jacon Burg each went 3-for-3 to power Classic Designs to the win. Herwig, Burg, Ryan Clark and Nick Urso scored two runs apiece. Steven Sapienza played well in the field.

Classic Designs of New England 6, Ridgefield (#1) 6 – Ryan Clark, Brendan Buzaid and Ryan Boucher had two hits apiece to lead Classic Design. Boucher, David Rodriguez and Clark all pitched well.

Classic Designs of New England 5, Brookfield (#2) 4 – Ryan Boucher went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Ian Herwig had a pair of hits to lead Classic Designs. Jacob Burg made nice plays in the infield. Daniel Cassidy and Keith Hogenauer played well.

American League

BASE Technologies 5, Aerco International 1 – Drew Woods and Pete Wlasuk banged out two hits apiece and Joe Cappiello drove in two runs to lead BASE to the win. Kurt Nacewicz made two solid plays at shortstop to anchor the defense. For Aerco, Shane Casey, Cole Depuy and Jamie Tibbets had run-scoring hits while Ryan Zitney sparkled in the field.

National League

Gruce Tile 10, Edwards Construction 8 – Andrew LaMarche, Joe Fedak, Adam Wenick, Nathan Crevier and Evan Barreto all had run scoring hits to lead Gruce Tile in a well balanced attack. Matt Hamilton (inside the park home run), George Zaruba (long double), Herlof Sorensen and Tyler Edwards had two hits each to pace Edwards.

Newtown Police Union 9, Church Hill Physical Therapy 8 – An RBI-single by Jeff Spencer and a double by Kevin O’Connell helped Newtown Police rally with three runs in the bottom of the sixth for the win. Another big hit for Newtown was a bases-loaed triple by Dale Neves. Gary Poe, who had four RBIs on two hits, and Ben Collins, who had two hits, led Churchill offensively. Kyle O’Connor, Jeff DiNicola, and Casey Tenney pitched well.

Gruce Tile 6, Attorney Natalia Kerler – Andrew LaMarche (two RBI) and Connor MacNamara (RBI) paced the Gruce offense while Joe Fedak struck out all six batters he faced. Christian Gonzalez made a great running catch in leftfield. For Kerler, Colin Nanavaty ripped two hits and Ralph Sergiovani scored two runs and pitched well.

Danbury Hospital 2, Edwards Construction 1 – Tyler Davenport, Nic Nazer, Ryan Cahalane and Robbie Blanc combined for 12 strikeouts for Danbury Hospital, while Tyler Edwards, George Zaruba and Matt Hamilton combined to strike out 15 for Edwards Construction. Davenport and Chris Winters led the hitting attack for Danbury Hospital while Edwards chipped in two hits and Will Covil had a hit for Edwards Construction.

Newtown Police Union 4, Gruce Tile 0 – Keith McGrath, Jeff Spencer, Nick Tarrantino, and Kevin O’Connell combined for 12 strikeouts, allowing only two hits, to lead NPU to the win. Anthony Gruce, Joe Fedak, and Adam Mannino pitched well for Gruce Tile, combining for nine strikeouts and allowing five hits. Andrew LaMarche and Kevin McCarthy had hits.

Danbury Hospital 11, Newtown Hardware 10 – Ryan Cahalane and Robbie Blanc had three hits apiece, while Nic Nazer and Anthony Lucia chipped in two each to lead Danbury Hospital. Leading the way for Newtown Hardware were Max Muraskiewicz with a towering homerun and Mitch Bloomburg and Jason Kostecki with two hits apiece. Ryan Pendegast had a double. Zach Gordon made a nice catch in left field.

Church Hill Physical Therapy 6, Edwards Construction 5 – Jeff DiNicola, Casey Tenney and Gary Poe led the Therapists with two hits each while Matt Iassogna had a double and played well in the field. Matt Hamilton and Zach Faurote led the Green Machine with two hits each as Herlof Sorenson pitched 3 strong innings.

Church Hill Physical Therapy 2, Gruce Tile 1 – Kyle O’Connor doubled and singled and Gary Poe and Oskar Dean hit the ball very well to lead Church Hill to the win. Jeff DiNicola and Robbie Phillips pitched well. Adam Wenick, Joe Fedek and Anthony Gruce all pitche very well for Gruce Tile. Andrew LaMarche played very well defensively with two outfield catches.

Church Hill Physical Therapy 5, Danbury Hospital 2 – Matt Iassogna, Dan O’Conner and Gary Poe led the Therapists on offense while Jeff DiNicola, Casey Tenney and Kyle O’Connor all pitched very well.. Nick Nazer led Danbury with three hits as CJ Portolese, Joe Christiano and Matt Bobkowski all played well in the field.

Church Hill Physical Therapy 6, Attorney Natalia Kerler 1 – Kyle O’Connor belted a home run while Jeff DiNicola had two hits including a triple to lead Church Hill. Oskar Dean added a triple and two runs scored. Marc Reyes and Alec Westhaver also played very well. For Kerler, Ralph Seragovanni had two hits including a triple and, along with Spencer Gregoire, pitched very well. Thomas Saboe and Sean McAllister played very well overall.

Mike Tobin Plumbing 8, Family Health 8 – Mike Tobin Plumbing had strong hitting by Steven Braun, Mike Tobin, and Tom Capozziello. Andrew Oravecz and Andrew Seymour lead the way on defense. Good showing for Family Health

Mike Tobin Plumbing 6, TR Paul 3 – Steven Braun, Mike Tobin and Ryan Koth pitched two innings each to hold TR Paul to three runs. Andrew Bouton and Robert Frangione lead the team on offense. For TR Paul, Mitch Udiskey and Matthew Grace led a strong effort. Patrick Fay added two strong innings on the mound.

Biscoe Excavating 13, Tendler Realtors 9 – Strong hitting and base running by Eric Hoffman and Brian Buchetto, combined with good pitching by Brian Czel and Stephen Clark, led Biscoe to the win. For Tendler, Johnny Fracker pitched two solid innings and added a triple, double and three RBIs. Josh Zimmerman led the defensive effort.

Screaming Eagles 5, Family Health 4 – RJ Roman pitched two strong innings and had three hits while Sean Maher added two scoreless innings and had two hits, including a triple, to lead the Eagles. Daniel Tomascak led the Family Health with a long double and RBI. Alex Martins added two runs scored and four stolen bases.

Screaming Eagles 11, Mike Tobin Plumbing 3 – Scott Boisvert sparked the Eagles with a grand slam home run. RJ Roman had three hits, including a home run, while Garrett Quinn also had three hits. Zach Dent and Shea Boyle pitched well. For Tobin, Drew Robinson and Steve Braun each had key hits and pitched well. Kyle Moore added a triple while Eric Sippin and Rob Frangione made big plays in the field.

Tendler Real Estate 6, VFW Post (#308) 3 – Sean LaPak, Johnny Fracker, Mike Ruddy and Matt Genovese played well to lead Tendler to the win. For VFW, Alex Saviano hit well along with Ryan Schmidt, who had two singles. Danny Sclafani showed off his skills as a pitcher.

TR Paul 5, Screaming Eagles 4 – Max Nacewicz scored the winning run by stealing home for TR Paul. Brian Reed added a key two-run single and Shane Wurtz played a strong defensive game. For the Eagles, Sean Maher and Zach Dent each pitched two strong innings, John Wlasuk had a two-run double and Shea Boyle added a key hit. Chris Jennings had a good game in the field.

Robert Ponsky DDS 5, Biscoe Excavating 3 – Robert Carrol and Mike Herring each went 2-for-2 with a double to lead Ponsky. Jake Eventoff also had an RBI and Derek Krewson pitched 2 scoreless innings. For Biscoe, Jordan Ashby powered the offense while Erik Hoffman had a solid pitching performance. Brad Biscoe and Brian Czel played well in the field.

Tendler Real Estate 12, Robert Ponsky DDS 1 – Mike Ruddy had four stolen bases, while Chris Giglio and Joey Maggio came up with timely singles to secure the win for Tendler. Alex Nordstrom had a strong game as catcher stopping several attempt at stealing home. Colby Summerlin racked up three RBIs. For Ponsky, Derek Krewson was 2-for-2 while Mike Herring had the lone RBI. Robert Carroll pitched two solid innings giving up one run. Kyle Harrington and Jacob Barrett also had good games.

Tendler Real Estate 6, Family Health Care 5 – Johnny Fracker led the fight for Tendler by pitching the last two innings and racking up six strikeouts to shut down FMC. Jonathan Smolen came up with a big catch in center field while Haakon Sorensen hit two singles and stole five bases. For FMC, Chris Caufield pitched well and Adam Moorehouse showed talent in the field. Brandon Rosenberger went 3-for-3 at the plate but was held to only singles by Tendler Realtors great fielding.

Tendler Real Estate 12, Hickey Septic 8 – Andrew McCarthy, Curtis Droniak, Christian Syegh and Mason West powered the Tendler offense. Tim Wilder pitched two strong innings. For Hickey, Jessica LaJoie and Thomas Johnston reached base twice and scored. Eric Samuelson sparkled in the field.

Enterprise Electric 13, Taunton Press 2 – Austin Bonadio (two-run homer), Michael Cascone and Corey Fisher led the offense while Riley Wurtz and Jack Kneisel anchored the defense for Enterprise.

Hickey Septic 6, Lindin Consulting 5 – Kevin Phillips was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and Sean Burson was 3-for-3 with a homer to lead Hickey Septic to the win. Jeffrey Grasso scored a pair of runs. For Lindin, Ian Kirner pitched well in his first outing while Jack McManus and Stephen Ibanez played well.

Troy Security 9, Union Savings 6 – Jack Sullivan, Ken Toal, and Brandon Capaldo had key hits to lead Troy Security. Dominick Fedak dominated on the mound. For Union, Jamie Boucher collected three hits while Kory Kling, Emma Herring and Danny Fisher sparkled in the field.

Tendler Real Estate 9, Union Savings 6 – Luke Shearing made two spectacular plays at first base to lead Union Savings. Matthew Pruner and Sean Fahey also played well in the field.

Taunton Press 4, Tendler Real Estate 1 – Curtis Droniak banged out a pair of hits and Jacob Leighton got on base twice to lead Tendler. Michael Lengel made a strong catch at shortstop.

My Place Pizza 7, Troy Security 0 – Chris Tenney cracked a grand slam while Trey Trudell, Connor Blanc and Brandon Ziman had two hits apiece to lead My Place. Patrick Sullivan, Cullin Merrifield and Jack Curry played well and led Troy Security.

Union Savings 4, Dental Associates 4 – Cole Baldino had a hit, stole two bases, and played well in the field to lead Dental Associates. Doug English also had a hit, two stolen bases, and a run scored.

Blinds Guys 4, Troy Security 3 – Tyler Harmeling and Timmy Brown powered the offense to lead the Blind Guys to the win. Connor Howell, Sean Connolly and Dakota Christiano made solid defensive plays to lead Troy.

Enterprise Electric 9, Blinds Guys 2 – Luke Sherwood drove in a pair of runs and David Tortora sparked the defense to lead Enterprise Electric to the win. Victor Wilson pitched well. For the Blinds Guys, Jordan Tyler was 2-for-2 with a pair of stolen bases while Colin Cooper pitched well, retiring six of seven batters. Rick Ruot was strong in the field.

Lindin Consulting 4, My Place Pizza 3 – William Arndt pitched two solid innings of baseball while Ian McWilliams, Chris McGowan and Stephen Ibanez hit the ball hard to lead Lindin. For My Place, Trey Trudell, Oliver Powers and Chris Tenney combined to pitch six strong innings. Robbie Daigle and Greg Williamson had key hits.

A

BASE Technologies 8, Mona Lisa 7 – Chad Magoulas had three hits while Patrick Riccardi and Scott Schmidt both had two hits to lead BASE. Robbie Baier and Ryan Manion made great defensive plays. For Mona Lisa, Shawn Chowdherry had a great hit, along with Sean Elliott and Chris Arnone. On defense Eric Branecky and Ryan Palmer made fine plays.

Mona Lisa 7, Associated Refuse 0 – Connor Anderson and Patrick Milano had a superb outings on the mound to lead Mona Lisa. Joey Coelho and Chris Robinson were strong in the field. For Associated, Nick Barreto, Devin DiNicola and Samuel Ashey lead the way at the plate as Zachary Carfi and Brandon Smith led the defense.

Curtis & Crandon 5, Mastercard 4 – Mike Allwein and Stephen Conway had three hits apiece to lead C&C. Austin Ryder kept batters off balance and pitched a strong inning and Jeff Hoffman played solid defense in several positions. For Mastercard, Mario Pizighelli and Brian Kruger powered the offense with multiple hits. Dylan O’Connor and Ryan Coe played solid defense and stopped several rallies.

Mastercard 9, Oak Street Design & Construction Flamethrowers 5 – Spencer Erhardt had two hits, including a long double, and Tyler Gibney had quick hands in the field to lead Mastercard to the win. Kevin Culligan, Gabriel Ruis and Dean Demers hit well for Oak Street while Patrick Haggerty, Matt Rahtelli and Peter Martino played well defensively.

Oak Street Design & Construction Flamethrowers 10, Villa Restaurant 8 – Mitchell Russo, Scott Buchanan and Adam Hedrick made great plays defensively to lead Oak Street.  Chris Erikson, Mike LoBosco and Josh Villa had big hits and Dean Demers pitched very well. For Villa Restaurant, Colton Sposta struck out the side in his pitching debut while Kyle Morrissey and Kurt Liniger each had three hits.

BASE Technologies 9, Acorn Electric 9 – Robbie Blanc went 4-for-4 and drove in the tying run to lead BASE. Patrick Riccardi had a pair of RBI and Chad Magoulas belted a tripled. Jack Brotherton made some fine plays in the field. For Acorn, Craig Fabian had a pair of RBI, Reid Schmidt went 3-for-3 and Miles LoBuglio went 2-for-3. Gavin Scallon and David Gerics sparkled on defense.
